Nelson Coelho shares key findings on his research into port state jurisdiction at the University of Copenhagen
Nelson Coelho is spending two weeks at the University of Copenhagen as a visiting researcher. In connection with this, he will on 12 December present at the University of Copenhagen Centre for International Law, Conflict and Crisis. The presentation will focus on the principle of functionality as a ground for states to unilaterally prescribe and enforce rules and standards on ship-source pollution. The discussion will revolve around the opportunities for, and limits to, unilateral jurisdiction within the law of the sea and in public international law more broadly.
