Lucas Roorda has obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from Utrecht University (cum laude) in 2009, and his Legal Research Masters (cum laude) at Utrecht University in 2012. His Masters thesis, awarded the Leo Bouchez thesis prize, dealt with the possible implications of the case of Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum Co., 133 S.Ct. 1659 (2013). He started his Ph.D. in 2014, specializing in extraterritorial jurisdiction over corporate human rights violations. The project is being supervised by prof. Cedric Ryngaert and co-supervised by dr. Liesbeth Enneking. Lucas is also a member of the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (UCALL).
In his spare time, Lucas enjoys playing drums in various bands, cooking and reading.
